Pamela Anderson has joked that the fight between her ex Tommy Lee and their son Brandon is “almost like a rite of passage”.
The former Motley Crue rocker was hospitalized in March after his 21-year-old son Brandon knocked him out during a heated argument over posts the drummer wrote on social media about his ex-wife, the former Baywatch star, after she made abuse allegations against him on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories.
The actress reunited with Piers on his U.K. breakfast show Good Morning Britain on Tuesday, and he asked her about the incident, she replied, “That’s between a father and a son.”
Piers pushed further, asking if she was upset about the drama, and a reluctant Pamela then added, “I think it’s their business and not something to talk about publicly. Everyone wants everyone to be happy but I don’t know if anyone has their own experience with growing up… it’s almost a rite of passage,” she said before laughing.
She previously issued a statement shortly after the incident in which she said Tommy suffers from “the disease of alcoholism” and her son was acting in self-defence.
The 50-year-old appeared on the show to talk about her book Lust for Love: Rekindling Intimacy and Passion in Your Relationship, which includes a passage about her sons, including Dylan, 20, being “raised by wolves”.
When Piers asked if both Pamela and Tommy were the wolves in question, she replied, “I think so… they were raised in a really wild experience, had a colourful life and were around colourful people and they have a lot to draw from in their lives and they’re just wonderful kids, very open and I’m just so proud of both of them.”
It was reported that the rocker was pursuing legal action against his son, but he stopped co-operating with investigators so the case has been dropped.
