Pamela Anderson calls for Flemish minister to push for a ban on fur farming

Pamela Anderson has penned a letter to a Flemish minister to ask for a push for a ban on fur farming.

The long-standing animal advocate has sent a letter to Ben Weyts, Flemish Minister for Mobility, Public Works, the Vlaamse Rand, Tourism and Animal Welfare, asking for the law to ban fur farming to come into force as soon as possible.

Writing on behalf of PETA and Belgian animal-protection group GAIA, she shared: “As a passionate animal-protection advocate, I was delighted to learn from my friends at PETA and GAIA that you’ve pledged to ban fur farming in the Flemish Region. I’m concerned, however, as it’s now December, and – despite having previously announced that you’d bring forward legislation by the end of the year – still, no law prohibiting this cruel industry has been proposed.

“Every day that such legislation is delayed is a day of misery for the more than 200,000 minks on fur farms in Flanders. These wild animals are kept in cramped wire cages that deny them any opportunity to carry out their natural behavior, such as running and swimming. This confinement causes them such intense psychological distress that many go insane and begin to mutilate themselves. After a lifetime of suffering, confinement, and frustration, they’re killed for a frivolous fashion accessory that no one needs – and increasingly, no one wants.”

In the letter, Pamela called for Weyts to “honor” the commitment he had made and “propose this important piece of legislation without delay”.

She added: “Please, honor your commitment to ban fur factory farming in Flanders and propose this important piece of legislation without delay. In doing so, you’d be joining Austria, Croatia, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and closer to home, the Brussels-Capital and Walloon regions of Belgium, which have already banned fur farms, recognizing that this barbaric cruelty is unacceptable in a civilized, progressive country.”

Pamela has been a passionate campaigner to ban animal fur, writing letters to the likes of Kim Kardashian West to ask them to swap to faux fur.

Pamela Anderson supports footballer beau Adil Rami

They sent the rumour mill into overdrive after stepping out in Nice last week.

And Pamela Anderson continued to send tongues wagging as she appeared at Adil Rami football match in Marseille, France, on Sunday.

The Baywatch siren, 49, looked tense as she watched the match between her 31-year-old rumoured beau’s team Olympique De Marseille and Toulouse FC.

Putting on her usually sizzling display, Pamela slipped into a slinky black off-the-shoulder blouse, tucked into a faux leather pencil skirt embellished with silver hardware.

Elongating her stature, she added a pair of classic killer heels, accessorising with a bejewelled satin clutch.

Wearing her blonde hair in tousled locks, the pretty star showed off her natural beauty under minimal make-up as she watched the game from the stands, cheering on her rumoured man.

But the bombshell had no reason to be nervous, with Olympique De Marseille beating Toulouse FC 2-0.

The sports star, who played for Sevilla FC atop the French national team, and Pamela first sparked speculation they are now an item in the French media, after stepping out together in Nice over a week ago.

Pamela is thought to have met Adil in LA, and were rumoured to have even spent the weekend together in Monaco last month

Last week, Pamela wrote Kim a letter, appealing to her to stop wearing fur after she stepped out in a number of ensembles during fashion week.

The heartfelt letter read: ‘Dear Kim, It was lovely seeing you at New York Fashion Week.

‘I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know you over the years, and I can tell you’re a good person with a big, beautiful heart.’

She added: ‘I’m writing to ask you to extend your compassion to real fashion victims- the animals who are violently killed in the fur trade -by swearing off fur this winter.’

‘I think you’d be horrified to learn that every single fur farm that PETA has exposed has been beyond cruel.

‘Investigators have witnessed and documented that foxes are electrocuted, dogs are bludgeoned to death, and raccoon dogs are skinned alive.’

Anderson went into detail about how the animals are not treated well and then wrote: ‘Times are changing, though.

‘Gisele Bündchen made a bold statement against fur on the cover of Vogue Paris earlier this summer, and Austria, Croatia, the Netherlands, Slovenia, the U.K., and other nations have taken a stand against cruelty by abolishing all fur farms.’

She then brought in the FLOTUS: ‘First lady and former fur-wearer Melania Trump recently swore off fur, following in the footsteps of so many fashion icons and first ladies.”

The pinup then got personal: ‘You know I love you, and you can be a hero for animals as well as a great example to all your beautiful followers by swearing off fur. Please do the right thing. You’d be praised all over the world, including by my close friends at PETA.’

Pamela Anderson Opens a Pop-Up Vegan Restaurant in France

Just when we thought Pamela Anderson couldn’t get any better, she opens a vegan restaurant in France.

The eatery, named La Table du Marché by Pamela, opened its doors yesterday in Ramatuelle, in the South of France, in the form of a pop-up—and PETA France was on hand to help the Baywatch icon kick things off. Anderson partnered with French chef Christophe Leroy to offer diners delicious plant-based dishes in “the enchanting setting of Moulins de Ramatuelle.”

According to her foundation’s website, Anderson’s new restaurant will feature a champagne bar in addition to a completely vegan menu. The menu will include a vegan burger, tomato tartare with goji berries and stuffed veggies, and an asparagus risotto, according to Huffington Post.

The restaurant, which will be open daily from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m., will remain open for the next 50 nights. Folks who wish to visit La Table du Marché by Pamela can make reservations online.
The actor—who just celebrated her 50th birthday and the 20th anniversary of her first PETA campaign—works tirelessly to help bring about the peace and justice that all living beings deserve. Her French pop-up will prove to countless patrons just how delicious—and sexy—vegan fare can be.
