Pamela Anderson: ‘Third Wave of Feminism’ ‘Paralyses Men’

Actress Pamela Anderson certainly violated some of Hollywood’s biggest taboos in a new interview, criticizing modern feminism and the #MeToo movement as destructive movements for men.

“I’m a feminist, but I think that this third wave of feminism is a bore. I think it paralyses men” Pamela Anderson said in an interview for 60 Minutes.

“I think that this Me Too movement is a bit too much for me. I’m sorry, I’ll probably get killed for saying that…but my mother taught me, don’t go to a hotel with a stranger,” she also said.

The Baywatch star also said that her time as a Playboy model was “very empowering” and that “no one forced me to do anything.”

This isn’t the first time that Anderson has made comments about the #MeToo movement. In December, the 51-year-old sparked controversy for saying that some of the alleged victims who came forward in the #MeToo era could have made better choices.

“Don’t go into a hotel room alone. If someone answers the door in a bathrobe, leave. These are things that are common sense, but I know Hollywood is very seductive and that people want to be famous,” she said.

“And, sometimes you think you are going to be safe, with an adult in a room. I don’t know where this security comes from, but somehow I’ve dodged — I dodged it all.”

Pamela Anderson Calls for People to Do More for Women Than Just Use a Hashtag

On Sunday, stars wore black to the Golden Globe Awards to stand in solidarity for gender equality and in support of victims of sexual harassment and assault.

It was a demonstration, which actress Pamela Anderson called “great” and “heartfelt,” but after an “uncomfortable” Uber ride home on Tuesday, she’s imploring people to do more.

Anderson told the Daily Mail that during her ride home, the driver repeatedly stared at her in the rearview mirror. The uncomfortable nature of the encounter made her think of “vulnerable young girls.”

She agreed that “awareness is important,” but added that in her opinion, “action is more important.” Anderson elaborated:

“I encourage people to follow their passion and live their lives with meaning and purpose, but also to not think they’ve accomplished anything with just a hashtag by itself.”

She added that people shouldn’t be lulled into a false sense of security when using ride-hailing apps simply because “everyone else is doing it.”

“Everyone must protect themselves by using common sense, and we must teach our children to be safe,” Anderson explained.

This isn’t the first time the actress has implored people, and especially women, to take action to help ensure their own safety.

After she received backlash for comments she made on NBC’s “Megyn Kelly Today,” Anderson noted that “it is not helping anyone to ignore the realities in the society we live in.”

While the blame always falls at the feet of the perpetrator, the actress explained that women should use “common-sense measures to keep ourselves safe and avoid harmful situations.”

Pamela’s New Ride-Hail PSA

Pamela Anderson is back to taking aim at ride-hail apps and the drivers she believes aren’t properly vetted … now tying them to the #MeToo movement.

Pam stars in a new ad/PSA in which she’s surrounded by headlines about sexual misconduct in Hollywood and the #MeToo movement, when a rideshare app driver pulls up.

The tension rises as the driver ominously stares at Pam through the rear view mirror and locks the doors — all while #MeToo flashes on her phone.

As we reported … Pam released a similar PSA last year, but this one definitely ups the ante.

Pam also released a statement to TMZ about her new ad, saying in part … “Ride-hail apps are a haven for predators. It’s scary how many #metoo tweets are linked to ride-hailing.”

Lyft tell us Pam’s campaign misleads consumers about the benefits and safety features of Lyft. They add … drivers must pass multiple background checks before being able to drive, and each ride is covered with a $1 million liability insurance policy.

No word back from Uber yet.
