Brandon & Dylan Talk Sex, Drugs, and Julian Assange

It was the paparrazi who first tipped off Brandon Thomas Lee and Dylan Jagger Lee to the fact that their family might not be normal. As the only children of ’90s royalty—Baywatch’s Pamela Anderson and Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee—Brandon, 23, and Dylan, 21, were raised in Malibu but sent to boarding school on Vancouver Island, far from the flashing lights of Hollywood. The Brothers Lee are now back in the City of Angels and ready for their close-ups. With countless other ambitious entertainers “giving it 110 percent,” Brandon (an actor who appears on the reboot season of The Hills) and Dylan (one-half of the electro duo Midnight Kids) know that their family name can only get them through the door. They invited Interview’s Thom Bettridge into their six-bedroom joint bachelor pad in Malibu to discuss sex, drugs, and, yes, Julian Assange.

———

THOM BETTRIDGE: I really want to talk to you about how you were both raised. What do you think is unique about growing up in L.A.?

BRANDON THOMAS LEE: Life just happens at such an accelerated pace. Everything around you is happening faster. People are losing their virginity five years younger than everywhere else in America. People are getting involved in drugs at a much younger age. When kids in L.A. are 18 or 19, they’re like a bunch of 40-year-olds who have already seen everything. It’s almost like they’re war veterans.

DYLAN JAGGER LEE: Brandon and I went to high school in Canada, so we came back to see our friends in completely different situations than when we left them. L.A. can be amazing, but it can also be the worst. A lot of people think it’s, like, be an actor, be a musician, be a model, or you’re nothing. It’s a pretty dog-eat-dog world.

BETTRIDGE: When did you first realize that you have famous parents?

BRANDON: I have the funniest fucking story about that. The normal thing to do as a parent is, of course, to make your kids feel like everything is normal and fine. I remember one day asking my mom, “Hey, why does everybody take photos of us?” And she said, “Oh, they do that to everybody.” Then, I remember being with one of my friends’ families when I was, like, 10, and we walked into dinner somewhere, and I said to them, “Hey, why does nobody take photos of you guys?”

DYLAN: Brandon was always the test dummy for me. I learned from all of his mistakes.

BETTRIDGE: Dylan, how did your dad respond when you started getting into music? Is he into non-rock music?

DYLAN: My dad loves all music, but I used to hate music back in the day. I didn’t want to make music. I didn’t want to be an actor. I didn’t want to do anything. Then I fell in love with it.

BETTRIDGE: I’ve been seeing a lot of people rocking Mötley Crüe t-shirts recently—wearing metal merch in general. Do you have your own stash at home?

BRANDON: I don’t have any of that shit.

DYLAN: I have never listened to rock music in my entire life.

BETTRIDGE: Really?

DYLAN: Obviously, we would go to the shows. I used to fall asleep to “Shout at the Devil.”

BRANDON: There are lots of try-hard celebrities out there running around in Iron Maiden shirts. I’m like, “Name one Iron Maiden song, please.” As Dylan said, we used to fall asleep to that shit. You’re not fooling anyone with the Rolling Stones or the Clash shirt 5,000 other people have.

BETTRIDGE: It’s very Urban Outfitters.

DYLAN: Very.

BETTRIDGE: Brandon, what made you decide to do The Hills?

BRANDON: I’ve had a pretty crazy life, and I spent the majority of it hiding from the spotlight, trying to be a normal kid. I used to resent all of this. But I’ve come to a point in my life where I want to show people what I’m truly like. There are a lot of misconceptions about the way we were raised—that we’re spoiled, or that we were given everything. But our friends can back this up: Dylan and I haven’t taken a dollar from our parents since we were in high school. We’ve been working our asses off to buy a house, buy a car, and pay for music equipment and acting lessons. It feels better to do it ourselves.

BETTRIDGE: How is it going through this acting journey and this sobriety journey at the same time?

BRANDON: Being sober is the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Three years ago, I was in one of the darkest spots of my entire life. I didn’t want to leave my apartment. I couldn’t do anything. Ever since I got sober, I just feel like everything’s gotten better for me. I’ve become a better actor. I’ve become a better worker. I’ve become a better person. I’m not gonna lie, in L.A. it’s really fucking hard to avoid temptation. Girls. Money. This and that. But my career has become so important to me that partying isn’t worth it anymore.

BETTRIDGE: You grew up surrounded by tons of famous people. Has anyone given you good advice about surviving the rat race?

DYLAN: Someone once told me, “There are thousands of other people giving 110 percent. How can you do more than that?”

BETTRIDGE: What about your mom’s friend Julian Assange? Have you ever met him?

DYLAN: Never.

BRANDON: You know what? I remember being in London, and he was FaceTiming with my mom, talking about some shit. I don’t know, man. That shit’s crazy to me. This little Pamela Anderson from Ladysmith, Canada, became a Playboy model, and now she is mingling with heads of state and the most wanted people in the fucking world.

BETTRIDGE: Have you talked to her about it?

BRANDON: Yes, and it’s so funny. Everyone thinks that she and Julian are dating or whatever. The world’s so crazy like that. She’s definitely got this savior complex—she’s a protector of the beaten down and the underdogs. If you are facing adversity, my mom is going to stand up for you no matter what.

Rick Salomon ‘is still in love’ with Pam

Pamela Anderson’s third husband Rick Salomon – whom she has been married to twice in the past – allegedly wants her back.

The professional poker player, 50, wed the ex-Baywatch starlet, 51, in 2007, but it was annulled in 2008. They then married a decade later in 2014 – but then divorced in 2015.

Pamela’s sons – whom she shares with her first marriage to rock star Tommy Lee – are also said to be keen for their mother to reignite the flame with their former-step-father.

Brandon, 22, and Dylan, 21, are desperate for them to get back together, a source told The Sun: ‘Brandon and Dylan have been begging [Pamela] to get back with [Rick] and say that he is still in love with her.

‘They said to her, “look mum there’s every sign he’s still in love with you, he still lives in the house you designed, you could move back in”. Even though things didn’t work out with him and Pamela – he never stepped away from being that father figure.

‘He’s always been there for them through everything and that’s why they’d love for him to get back together with Pamela. Pamela left Rick because of his addiction problems but he’s doing very well now. Pamela really loved Rick and she’s definitely open to the idea.’

Pamela is supposedly dating soccer star Adil Rami, but their romance has proven to have its ups and downs.

She and Rick’s first wedding took place in Vegas, in September 2007, annulling it six months later.

Prior to this, he was married to actresses Elizabeth Daily – from 1995 to 2000 – and Shannen Doherty – from 2002 to 2003.

Elsewhere, the father of her sons appears to have patched things up with them, having recently feuded.

After a rocky 18 months Mötley Crüe rocker Tommy, 56, was seen with Brandon and Dylan outside Nobu in Malibu after they had dinner along with Tommy’s wife Brittany Furlan, 32.

At one point Brandon, who is starring in the reboot of The Hills: The New Beginnings, showed his dad his new Porsche.

The duo were seen happily chatting and bonding just over a year after their bust-up.

The rocker infamously feuded with his eldest son last year but the duo proved they were back on good terms in December when the musician posted a snap of the duo hugging.

‘I love you son,’ he captioned the image.

‘Love you dad,’ Brandon commented.

Back in March 2018 Brandon and Tommy got in a physical fight, resulting in injuries severe enough to warrant a hospital trip for the drummer.

Tommy went off about the fight on Twitter at the time, writing: ‘My fiancée [Brittany Furlan] and I were in bed when my son busted into the room and assaulted me. I asked him to leave the house and he knocked me unconscious. He ran away from the police. THAT’S the truth.’

The LA County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that they responded to the incident at Tommy’s home at the time of the alleged altercation.

After the incident, Tommy posted a photo of swollen and bloody lips as evidence of the attack.

It was captioned: ‘My heart is broken. You can give your kids everything they could ever want in their entire lives and they can still turn against you

Brandon responded shortly thereafter, telling People: ‘I’m devastated at the events of the last several days that have been a result of my father’s alcoholism.

‘I’ve worked tirelessly organizing an intervention and it’s incredibly upsetting that it never came to fruition.

‘I wanted my dad’s hopeful sobriety and recovery to be a private family matter but, as a result of his accusations on social media, I feel forced to speak out. I have and will continue to cooperate with law enforcement as needed. I love my father and just want to see him sober, happy and healthy.’

Tommy seems to be doing better these days. He married social media star Brittany on February 14 after dating for around two years.

Pamela Anderson makes a chic arrival in Athens

She is world famous thanks to her classic Baywatch role.

And when she jetted to Athens, Pamela Anderson was warmly welcomed to the country with a huge bunch of red roses as she touched down at the airport.

The actress, 51, made a chic arrival in a simple black jumpsuit, which boasted a slouchy fit and was turned up around the ankles for added flair.

She added a touch of glamour to her look with a pair of patent black stilettos, while toting a a small black carry-on bag in her manicured hand.

Masking her pretty face, Pamela wore a pair of huge oversized shades while also opting for a fresh-faced look with minimal make-up.

She tied her platinum locks back off her face in a messy bun, adding to her casual look as she strolled through arrivals.

In her hand she carried a huge bunch of red roses which were wrapped in red material and tied with a satin ribbon.

Pamela’s appearance comes after she caused a stir on social media recently by claiming the world had lost ‘good men’ to ‘porn and PlayStation’ in a Twitter thread.

She said: ‘Porn and PlayStation; we’ve lost many good men to this. GONE. No return. Talk to our children. As young adults we can make our own choices.

‘It’s a slippery slope. I (pray) kids can be brave. Rebel against it all. Nightmare.’

She also recently admitted that she is missing her two children Brandon, 22, and Dylan, 21, whom she raises with her first ex-husband Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, 56.

The mother-of-two, who moved away from the sunny shores of Malibu, enthused she couldn’t wait for her children to come and visit her in France.

She told Silvia Toffanin on Italy’s Canale 5 TV show Verissimo: ‘I miss my children. You know I live in France now and they have very busy lives. I can’t wait for the next time they’ll come visit me.’
