This Star Turned Down $1 Million From Hugh Hefner To Pose With Pamela Anderson

After Playboy was founded in 1953, it was among the most talked-about magazines in the world for decades on end. While there are many reasons for that, including the often underrated journalism that could be found within the magazine’s pages, Playboy’s pictorials always got the lion’s share of attention.

During the heyday of Playboy, each issue that was published would sell enough copies to make a fortune for the company. That said, there is no doubt that when a celebrity would pose for a Playboy pictorial, the issue those images appeared in would do much larger numbers. As a result, there is a long history of Playboy paying stars large sums of money to pose for them.

If you looked at a list of the celebrities who posed for Playboy, the vast majority of them appeared by themselves. However, in certain rare occurrences, the magazine would ask a pair of celebrities to pose for a pictorial together. For example, at one point Pamela Anderson and another star were offered $1 million to pose for Playboy together, but the other celebrity seemingly turned that offer down.

From 1989 until 2001, millions of Baywatch fans tuned in to watch new episodes of the extremely popular series. During that timespan, a wide array of gorgeous women starred in the show which meant they could regularly be seen on television sporting nothing more than a swimsuit during their tenure. For example, people like Yasmine Bleeth, Erika Eleniak, Nicole Eggert, Traci Bingham, Carmen Electra, and Kelly Packard played a role in the show’s legacy.

Despite all of the actors who starred in Baywatch over the years, two actors are most closely associated with the hit show, David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson. In the case of Hasselhoff, he played the show’s main character, starred in all of the series’ eleven seasons, and even headlined the spin-off Baywatch Nights. On the other hand, Anderson only starred in Baywatch for five years yet she cast a massive shadow over the series’ entire run. The reason why Anderson plays such a pivotal role in Baywatch’s history is that she is visually stunning and she has a unique chemistry that allows her to stand out in any group.

In the years since Pamela Anderson first rose to international superstardom, she has become a media icon. For proof of that, all you have to look at is the fact that even though Anderson can go years without starring in a successful show or movie without fading away from the spotlight. One of the main reasons for that is that the media has long been fascinated by most aspects of her life, especially when it comes to the people she dates.

Soon after Playboy was founded in 1953, the magazine’s publisher Hugh Hefner managed to make himself famous. Despite that, Hef had to know that when most people thought about his publication, it was the women who appeared within its pages that they thought of first. For that reason, whenever a woman’s appearance within the pages of Playboy inspired a lot of sales, it didn’t take long for Hefner to invite them back.

Even though many women appeared in the pages of Playboy more than once, one of them reigned supreme. After all, Pamela Anderson appeared in Playboy fifteen times over several decades. In fact, Anderson graced the cover of Playboy’s final nude issue in 2015 and her first pictorial was published in 1989. That is an amazing accomplishment for someone who was brought up in a small Canadian town like Ladyship, British Columbia.

In 2008, an extremely forgettable movie called Blonde and Blonder that starred Pamela Anderson and Denise Richards was released to the public. Unfortunately for everyone involved with the movie, it came and went without much fanfare, and according to Wikipedia, the movie lost a lot of money.

Since Blonde and Blonder utterly failed, it likely didn’t do much to make its two stars bank accounts grow. However, as it turns out, that almost wasn’t the case because the people at Playboy Magazine took note of the film. Evidently thinking that Blonde and Blonder could be a hit and always interested in working with Pamela Anderson, Playboy wanted to center a pictorial around the film. As a result, the company reportedly offered Anderson and her co-star Denise Richards $1 million to pose for a pictorial together. Despite that incredible offer, the pictorial never came to be.

Since Pamela Anderson appeared in the pages of Playboy fifteen times and was reportedly paid $25,000 for her last appearance, it appears likely she would have taken a $1 million offer. On top of that, Anderson reportedly donated her final Playboy fee to charity. With that in mind, it seems safe to assume that Denise Richards is the one who turned down the offer. However, that seems surprising too since Richards later posed for Playboy.
