Since Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan’s newspaper career was brought to an end, he has made a living largely off the back of his opinions on everything from politics to Arsene Wenger (he might be right about that one).
Well, for the forthcoming series of Life Stories – in which Piers talks about something other than himself, namely another celebrity – he has managed to get on the wrong side of one of his guests before the show has even aired.
Baywatch star Pamela Anderson has hit out at the Good Morning Britain presenter after she was interviewed and felt that Piers was more bothered about her ‘body parts’ than her brain.
In recent years Anderson has been involved in a lot of charity work and activism, but she obviously thought that Piers was less than interested in her work fighting the fur trade as he was in her other qualities.
She claims that the interview lasted more than three hours, but will be cut down to a fraction of that in which most of the discussion is about her sex life and modelling career.
Of her activism and charity work, she said: “You won’t see this in the final edit. The interview I did was three hours long and it will be cut down to 37 minutes. I feel it was reduced to mainly my body parts and men.
“It’s ITV. Piers is notorious for trying to make everyone happy with a twist of tabloid journalism. He knows his audience. I just wish differently. Times are changing. People are more aware than ever. Keep up, Stay tuned.”
Never one to let a jibe pass by him without response, Morgan has hit back at Anderson’s criticism, he said: “We filmed two months ago and it’s a fantastic show. Pamela thanked me profusely for the interview afterwards. She hasn’t seen the final edit and it’s a very fair and balanced portrait of her entire life.
“As for her body parts, Ms Anderson’s social media posts regularly feature a celebration of just her world-famous body parts… So I am surprised she would take exception to me discussing them.”
As it happens, Pamela is even more interesting than you might think. She frequently visits WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange at his ‘residence’ in the Ecuadorian embassy in London.
Assange has been living in the embassy since 2012 to avoid extradition to Sweden for allegations of sexual assault.
