Pamela Anderson Rails on Ride-Hail Apps

Pamela Anderson took her viral campaign against ride-hail apps to the podium and delivered her message in the flesh, saying riders and drivers get the short end of the stick.

Pam spoke at a conference in Vegas Monday to discuss the controversial subject, and she reinforced her points about apps like Uber and Lyft absolving themselves of responsibility for both their customers and employees … or “independent contractors” as they’d call them.

She tells folks in the room that ride-hail companies are fully aware of just how dangerous their services really are, and are basically saying good luck to someone when they accept a ride. Interestingly, she also goes to bat for drivers … whom she says get exploited.

Pam’s touched on these topics before — most recently in a PSA called ‘Terms and Conditions’ in which she calls attention to the risk riders assume by using Lyft and Uber.

She also gets asked about Tommy Lee wanting to prosecute their son, Brandon, for allegedly knocking him out … but refuses to answer.

Pamela Anderson Continues Support of the National Domestic Violence Hotline

Actress, author and philanthropist Pamela Anderson announced today, the donation of $30,000 to the National Domestic Violence Hotline (The Hotline) on behalf of the Pamela Anderson Foundation. This marks the fourth year of the Pamela Anderson Foundation’s generous support of The Hotline. Anderson, who now spends most of her time raising funds for non-profit organizations worldwide, visited The Hotline’s headquarters in 2015 to present a $60,000 donation and hear firsthand how advocates are making a difference in the lives of those affected by abuse.

Anderson’s donation will support The Hotline’s work in educating and providing resources to family members affected by abusive relationships in the home, by providing emotional support, safety planning and local resources, such as legal advice and counseling.

Advocates from The Hotline often hear from victims and survivors whose abusive partners exploit their children as a tactic for control in the relationship. They work with victims and survivors to assess tactics that are used when there are young people in the home and provide safety-planning tips. They also coach families on how to communicate when alcohol and drug abuse are factors.

Every day, advocates at The Hotline receive nearly 1,300 calls, chats and texts from victims, survivors and their friends and family seeking information about domestic violence. With one in four women, one in seven men and one in three teens experiencing physical, emotional or verbal abuse by an intimate partner in their lifetime, the need to provide resources and support for victims is critical.

“It’s a privilege to continue to support the important work of the National Domestic Violence Hotline, whose advocates I’ve had an opportunity to meet and hear from directly,” said Pamela Anderson, founder of the Pamela Anderson Foundation. “As a mother of two, I am particularly delighted to know that our donation will help ensure that families in need of both compassion and information will continue to find a 24/7, trusted resource in The Hotline.”

“Our everyday work is made possible by supporters like Pamela Anderson, and we are tremendously grateful for her partnership and generous contributions over the past four years,” said Katie Ray-Jones, chief executive officer of The Hotline. “The Foundation’s support significantly and positively impacts our ability to offer services and provide resources for parents who are experiencing abuse, which is critical to our mission.”

Tommy Lee blasts Pamela Anderson for discussing abusive relationship

Tommy Lee has blasted ex-wife Pamela Anderson after she opened up about their abusive relationship in a Piers Morgan interview.

The Mötley Crüe rocker took to Twitter in the early hours of this morning to tweet the British journalist over his “Life Stories” chat with the “Baywatch” star which aired on Saturday night.

Tommy, 55, wrote: “@piersmorgan ur interviews w/Donald Trump & my ex-wife are pathetic!

“Think she’d find something new to discuss instead of rehashing old s–t but I guess she has nothing else going on & needs attention.”

He controversially added at the end: “Signed, The abuser” (who she texts everyday & asks for me back).

Tommy – who was married to Pamela, 50, from three years in the mid-90s – was referring to comments made by the actress and Playboy model in the interview about how their marriage came to an end after he assaulted her.

The rocker served six months in jail after pleading no contest to the charges, but was clearly still unhappy about his past misdemeanors being discussed on the program.

Tommy shot back: “I suggest you don’t interview her. Are you that desperate for people to interview?

“She literally has NOTHING going on so she brings up old drama for attention.

“I’m sure there’s some people better worth your time. Lovely to hear from you too ha”.

Piers wasn’t fazed however, replying: “Morning Tommy! Lovely to hear from you. I’m not responsible for what Pamela told me about your marriage so I suggest you take it up with her.”

He added in another tweet: “I like Pamela and I like you… if you fancy doing an interview yourself, I would be happy to let you have your say?”

While Tommy didn’t reply to Piers, 52, directly, he tweeted: “Everyone wants to give you their two cents, it’s like, I don’t need a pocket full of change thank you very much. Keep it movvvving.”
