Pamela says Tommy Lee feud with son ‘a rite of passage’

Pamela Anderson has joked that the fight between her ex Tommy Lee and their son Brandon is “almost like a rite of passage”.

The former Motley Crue rocker was hospitalized in March after his 21-year-old son Brandon knocked him out during a heated argument over posts the drummer wrote on social media about his ex-wife, the former Baywatch star, after she made abuse allegations against him on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories.

The actress reunited with Piers on his U.K. breakfast show Good Morning Britain on Tuesday, and he asked her about the incident, she replied, “That’s between a father and a son.”

Piers pushed further, asking if she was upset about the drama, and a reluctant Pamela then added, “I think it’s their business and not something to talk about publicly. Everyone wants everyone to be happy but I don’t know if anyone has their own experience with growing up… it’s almost a rite of passage,” she said before laughing.

She previously issued a statement shortly after the incident in which she said Tommy suffers from “the disease of alcoholism” and her son was acting in self-defence.

The 50-year-old appeared on the show to talk about her book Lust for Love: Rekindling Intimacy and Passion in Your Relationship, which includes a passage about her sons, including Dylan, 20, being “raised by wolves”.

When Piers asked if both Pamela and Tommy were the wolves in question, she replied, “I think so… they were raised in a really wild experience, had a colourful life and were around colourful people and they have a lot to draw from in their lives and they’re just wonderful kids, very open and I’m just so proud of both of them.”

It was reported that the rocker was pursuing legal action against his son, but he stopped co-operating with investigators so the case has been dropped.

Pamela Anderson: Becoming a ‘Playboy’ Model ‘Saved My Life’

Pamela Anderson refuses to be held down. In an exclusive new interview with Us Weekly, the 50-year-old model opens up about the sexual abuse she suffered growing up.

“I was molested as a child by a bad female babysitter, who is no longer alive,” she says. “And my first experiences with men were not consensual.”

But Anderson never let the abuse stop her from persevering. She landed her big break with Playboy in 1989 and became the magazine’s Playmate of the Month the following February, an accomplishment that she says she’ll never forget.

“I was painfully shy as a child. As a young girl, Playboy empowered me. It really saved my life,” she tells Us. “I felt very trapped inside and needed to free myself. It was a breakthrough for me, and there I met artists and activists and gentleman. It has been a fun and wild life.”

The road to success wasn’t always easy though, which is why Anderson has a message for those who have gone through similar struggles. “I encourage everyone to be brave and step outside your comfort zone,” she says. “It’s a springboard into the unknown. And when you can do this, you can really live.”

She continues, “We’ve all had some kind of tragedy in our lives. We just have to remember that and be good to each other.”

The Baywatch alum is also speaking out against the recent sexual misconduct scandal in Hollywood. (She came under fire in November for suggesting that Harvey Weinstein’s accusers knew what they were “getting into” by “going into a hotel room alone” with the movie mogul, who has denied any allegations of non-consensual sex.)

“Hollywood is difficult. It is not my favorite place to be,” she tells Us. “But it is a business, and if this is the life you want, you play the game. I’m happy to be living in France now. Hollywood is too much. I’d rather use my energy in other ways.”

Those other ways include continuing her work as an activist with PETA and writing her upcoming book, Lust for Love: Rekindling Intimacy and Passion in Your Relationship. As she tells Us, “Activism is sexy.”

Brandon Lee Steps Out with Pamela Anderson

Brandon Lee was seen stepping out to dinner in Los Angeles with mother Pamela Anderson on Monday night, weeks after the 21-year-old had a physical altercation with his father, Mötley Crüe rocker Tommy Lee.

The fight erupted after Tommy shared disparaging posts about Anderson, his ex wife, on social media. But despite the feud — which resulted in a hospital trip for the 55-year-old drummer — Brandon insists that he still has affection for his father. “I love my dad,” he told reporters for TMZ as he exited Craig’s, a West Hollywood eatery.

The altercation occurred on March 5 at Tommy’s home in Calabasas, California. The following day he posted (and quickly deleted) a selfie of his swollen lips on Instagram captioned, “My heart is broken. You can give your kids everything they could ever want in their entire lives and they can still turn against you. Good job Brandon. Great son!”

Sgt. Matthew Dunn confirmed to PEOPLE that the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department will hand over the battery case to the district attorney after completing their investigation.

Representatives for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s office, who arrived on the scene soon after the incident, previously told PEOPLE the pair had been arguing about a series of tweets and photos Lee had posted responding to a recent interview given by Anderson. During an appearance on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories that aired on ITV, the former Baywatch star, 50, discussed physical abuse she claimed to have endured from Tommy during their relationship.

Both Brandon and Pamela have blamed the incident on Tommy’s alcoholism and substance abuse. In an exclusive statement to PEOPLE, Brandon claimed that he planned to stage an intervention for his father.

“I’m devastated at the events of the last several days that have been a result of my father’s alcoholism,” he said at the time. “I’ve worked tirelessly organizing an intervention and it’s incredibly upsetting that it never came to fruition. I wanted my dad’s hopeful sobriety and recovery to be a private family matter but, as a result of his accusations on social media, I feel forced to speak out. I have and will continue to cooperate with law enforcement as needed. I love my father and just want to see him sober, happy and healthy.”

Anderson shared the sentiment. In a lengthy statement titled “Alcoholism is the Devil” shared on her website, Anderson called her ex “a disaster spinning out of control” but said that his destructive behavior “is nothing new.”

Lee shared a statement of his own with the outlet, denying the accusations wholeheartedly. “Do I drink more than the average Joe? Yes. Have I ever hurt my sons or acted out of turn with them because of my drinking? No,” he writes. “No matter how much people wanna pin me as this deviant alcoholic abuser, that isn’t me. I’m a happy fun-loving guy.”

Anderson, meanwhile, insists his drinking is a serious problem. “I pray Tommy gets the help he needs. His actions are desperate and humiliating — he is a disaster spinning out of control. And he is not acting like a father.” She also added that her sons “have made every attempt to help him in recent months,” adding that her Brandon was “putting together an intervention” because he wanted to see his father turn his life around.”
