It’s safe to that Pamela Anderson is loving life.
The actress opened up about turning 50 during an interview with Today‘s Megyn Kelly on Friday morning, saying she feels more liberated than ever.
“It’s hard for me to think of myself at this age, but I’m doing everything I wanted to do,” she said. “I’m living in the South of France, 99 percent of my life is devoted to my causes and my kids are grown.”
Anderson said some of the best part of growing older is watching her two sons, Dylan Jagger Lee, 19 and Brandon Thomas Lee, 21, turn into adults.
“They’re beautiful, they’re talented and they’re healthy and happy and ambitious and calculated,” she said. “All those things I don’t understand, but they do, so they’re going to be okay. So things are good. Things are really good.”
During the interview, Anderson also revealed some insight into her relationship with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
“He’s so funny, and he’s very kind. He’s very smart — he’s brilliant,” she said. “And we talk about everything. I’m there for four hours at a time, and I see him all the time. He is happy to see me when I come. He’s very sad when I leave.”
Anderson was first spotted visiting Assange at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London last October, and has written about her numerous visits to him in several lengthy posts on her website.
While Anderson describes her relationship with Assange, 45, as purely platonic, she said they are still “very close.”
“He’s really an important person to me,” she said.
Assange has claimed political asylum at the embassy since 2012 in order to avoid facing extradition to Sweden over a rape allegation he has long refuted. Assange has said he fears being sent to the U.S. to face espionage charges in relation to WikiLeaks.
“If you read through all the reports and the UN finding, there’s no evidence of rape,” Anderson told Kelly in defense of Assange.
After the interview, Kelly said Anderson’s publicist told the talk show host that the actress would be willing to marry Assange if it would get him out of his current situation in the embassy.
